Background
  • Joined CDI in 2005
  • Ph.D., Duke University, NC, 2004
  • M.S., Moscow State University, Russia, 1996
Research Interests
  • Structural and acoustical properties of periodic structures. Development of efficient numerical methods for calculation of effective structural properties as well as acoustic far-field of periodic structures.
  • Vibration isolation. Using "pass/stop" band behavior of periodic structures to prevent gross structural vibration and acoustic radiation.
  • Turbulence modeling in fluid/structure interaction problems. Flutter, flow separation, enhancement of aerodynamic and acoustic properties. Vortex generators in applications to wing aerodynamics and cavity acoustics.
Professional Societies and Honors
  • Member: Acoustical Society of America (ASA)
  • Recipient of Soros Fellowship, International Soros Science Education Program, 1994.
  • Recipient of Graduate Fellowship, Duke University, 2000-2004.
